Pre-departure Orientation
All study abroad students are required to attend the Pre-departure Orientation. This event is held on a Saturday afternoon (early December for Spring study abroad, early May for Summer/Fall study abroad). At the Orientation, we team you up -as much as possible- with other UNH students going to your host (or neighboring) country, so you can exchange contact info and possibly visit each other while abroad. We will give you lots of useful information, whether it’s things you need to take care of before leaving UNH, tips on how to adjust to a new culture, information on health and safety, etc. Many study abroad alumni will be there to give you advice based on their experience, and to answer any questions you may have. We will email you the specific date and time once you have gone through the Getting Started stage.
Before you go abroad, take a look at the Study Abroad Handbook and share this information with your loved ones.
