Message from the Director

As the spring 2012 semester begins, I wish to welcome you to the Center for International Education's virtual home and invite you to engage in the exciting events and opportunities we offer. For students, you have many reasons to visit us: Are you interested in study and service learning abroad? You can choose from more than 500! different programs from Australia to Viet Nam — there is most definitely a place in the world that is the right fit for you! We offer study abroad Info Sessions every Thursday in Murkland G17 from 1-2 pm.
In today's globalized and interdependent world, studying international affairs and having a transnational perspective has never been more vital — or valuable. For students wanting to internationalize their UNH degree, you can pursue a Dual Major in International Affairs (IA). Come meet with one of our advisors and see how IA can complement your current or prospective major. Join the 280+ students who are already enrolled in this dynamic program (as well as our 700+ alumni around the world)!
This summer, CIE is proud to offer a new study abroad program focusing on sustainable development in Costa Rica (see below for more details), designed specifically to meet the interests and needs of IA dual majors (all majors are welcome). Drop in to one of our upcoming Info Sessions to learn more.
We encourage everyone to follow us on Twitter, visit us on Facebook and join the IA Alumni group on LinkedIn. Perhaps you are a faculty member seeking support for international research or development, an IA/study abroad alum, or a member of the community. Whatever your global interests, at CIE you will find international speakers of note, current news from our newly expanded UNH International Educator, and engaged colleagues working to support campus internationalization.
We invite you to visit us and our international library on the 2nd floor of Hood House, Monday through Friday, 8:00-12:00 and 1:00-4:30. And remember that at CIE, international education means the world!
