Marisa Forti Receives Staff Excellence Award, UNH Manchester

Marisa FortiMarisa Forti was presented with the UNH at Manchester’s Staff Excellence award in June. Forti joined the college in 2009 and serves as an academic counselor in the Academic Counseling Office and coordinator of both the College Transition Program and Study Away programs. The annual award is presented to a staff member of the UNH community who has demonstrated outstanding accomplishments and distinguished service beyond their regular job responsibilities


Forti was recognized for her outstanding services to students and commitment to the college community. 


“She is truly dedicated, taking any step necessary to support each and every student…Her commitment to promoting a caring, welcoming and supportive community environment is further demonstrated through her role as a UNH social justice educator,” wrote one nominator. “She works tirelessly in the background never expecting any accolades for her work and always giving more than others ask of her.” 


Prior to joining UNH Manchester, Forti was at the University of Connecticut in Storrs, Conn. where she completed a master’s degree in higher education and student affairs. She was also a graduate assistant in the Leadership Programs Office where she worked closely with academic departments developing and facilitating one-credit courses on leadership and individualized leadership workshop series. Forti also has a bachelor’s degree in psychology with a philosophy minor from Western New England College.
