If you’ve got a love for UNH and want to share it, social media coordinator Jason Boucher has the contest for you, one where you can win some UNH bling and a $25 iTunes gift card just for telling folks about that love.

All you have to do is go to Pinterest, and pin away. For those of you who don’t know what that is, here’s the primer: think of Pinterest as an online bulletin board where you can post your pictures in categories—films, cars, clothes, hairstyles, hobbies, how-tos, recipes, etc.—for people who share your interests.  The posting is called “pinning” and people can follow you to see what you’ve pinned, and you can follow those that pique your interest. Learn more at http://pinterest.com/.

“The contest is a great way to showcase UNH to the Pinterest world and share stories through pictures across various avenues of social media, including Facebook and Twitter,” Boucher says.

To enter the “What Does UNH Mean to You?” contest, just follow UNH on the website pinterest.com/unh, create a board called “My UNH,” pin at least 10 items related to UNH using the hashtag #MYUNH, and post a comment with a link to your board under the My UNH Contest pin.

Unsure of how you might say it in pictures? You can check out what others are doing before you start but here’s a sampling: one board has, among other things, a photo of alum and actor Mike O’Malley, T Hall, and a poster of Wild E. Cat. Another has a photo of “University of New Hampshire” spelled out in Scrabble tiles, sports teams, the wildcat sculpture in front of the Whitt, and the marching band during a hockey game.

The most interesting and best-publicized board wins. The contest ends Oct. 5 and the winner  will be announced Oct. 11.

Open to all UNH staff, students and alumni.
