Monday, June 27, 2022

Gen. Lori Robinson, member of the UNH Class of 1981 (English major), was named the recipient of the 2021 Charles Holmes Pettee Medal Award at UNH's Evening of Distinction earlier this month.

Robinson is the first woman to lead a major combatant command in the history of the United States Armed Forces and retired as the most senior female from any service in the history of the U.S. military. She returned to campus to deliver the keynote address at UNH's commencement ceremony in 2017.

The Pettee Medal, established in 1940, recognizes "individuals who exhibit the rare devotion to service" that Pettee was known for and is awarded to "a resident or former resident of the state in recognition of outstanding accomplishment or distinguished service in any form to the state, the nation, or the world."
