The University of New Hampshire’s Department of English is pleased to announce that celebrated author Andre Dubus III will read from his work and hold a Q & A session at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 23, 2017 at the Memorial Union Building, Theatre I, on the Durham Campus, as part of the UNH Writers Series. 

Dubus is the author of six books, including three New York Times Bestsellers. "House of Sand and Fog" was a #1 NYT bestseller, a fiction finalist for the National Book Award, an Oprah Book Club Selection, and adapted into an Academy Award-nominated motion picture. His memoir "Townie" was a #4 NYT bestseller and a NYT Editors Choice. "Dirty Love" was chosen as a Notable Book and Editors Choice from the NYT, a Notable Fiction from the Washington Post, and a Kirkus Starred Best Book of 2013. Dubus has been awarded a Guggenheim Fellowship, The National Magazine Award for Fiction, Two Pushcart Prizes, and an American Academy of Arts and Letters Award in Literature. His books are published in over 25 languages and earned praise from reviewers. "Dirty Love" was described by Kirkus Reviews as “first rate fiction by a dazzling talent.” Author Richard Russo wrote of "Townie:" "I've never read a better or more serious meditation on violence, its sources, consequences, and, especially, its terrifying pleasures than Townie." And the Philadelphia Inquirer praised House of Sand and Fog as “exceptional storytelling, true to life… searing and insightful… You can’t help but be impressed.”
