Cooperative Extension's Karen Bennett receives 2016 UNH award for public service

Karen P. Bennett, of UNH Cooperative Extension and the department of natural resources and the environment in the UNH College of Life Sciences and Agriculture, received the 2016 UNH Faculty Excellence Award for Public Service. She is the first UNH Extension staff person to receive the honor.
A forester, Bennett has been described as the thread that holds the forestry community together.
“Part of the reason I like what I do is that I have the opportunity to interact with these great professionals, these great organizations, and in partnering with them, we’re able to achieve our mission more easily and more readily,” Bennett says.
