UNH Law Dean Emeritus John Hutson spoke at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia on Wednesday, July 27, 2016. You can see the entire speech in the video below.

Hutson made reference to the law school at about the 6:15 mark of the video as he recalled a 2008 visit to campus from Hillary Clinton.

Hutson served as Dean & President of the University of New Hampshire School of Law from July 2000 through January 2011. Hutson was commissioned in the U.S. Navy in 1969 and, later in his Naval career, assumed duty as Executive Officer of the Naval Legal Service Office, Newport, RI, in 1987. In 1989, he returned to Washington, DC, to serve as Staff Judge Advocate and Executive Assistant to the Commander, Naval Investigative Command.

During his career, Hutson was awarded the Distinguished Service Medal, the Legion of Merit (with three gold stars), Meritorious Service Medal (with two gold stars), Navy Commendation Medal, and Navy Achievement Medal.
