Families Join Students For
UNH Family Weekend Oct. 22-24

DURHAM, N.H. – Hundreds of parents, grandparents, brothers
and sisters will join their University of New Hampshire students
for a weekend of activities during Family Weekend 2004, Oct. 22,
23 and 24, 2004.
Family Weekend is a UNH tradition that brings students and their
families together, where all are encouraged to be part of the university
community of learning and exploring.
One of the highlights of the weekend is a university picnic on the
lawn of Thompson Hall Saturday, Oct. 23, complete with free photo
buttons for the entire family, a DJ providing music, and appearances
by UNH mascot Wild-E-Cat. In addition, the Alumni Marketplace will
have new UNH logo items available. Tickets are $5 and can be purchased
at the Memorial Union Building ticket office thru Oct. 20.
Other highlights include a free concert Friday evening with Dave
Binder, who will present an evening of James Taylor favorites; UNH
Jazz Band Concert; the Amadeus Trio performance; a Parents Association
Sunday Brunch at Huddleston Hall; and football, men’s and
women’s hockey, volleyball and soccer games.
Several UNH departments are offering programs such as Study Abroad
101, College Transition 101, Classroom Technology Demonstrations,
a Master Plan presentation, and tours of Dimond Library. In addition,
several are participating in the University Resource Fair that allows
campus organizations to highlight their involvement in the undergraduate
The community also is invited to get a last look at the UNH Art
Gallery’s exhibits, “Realized in Wood: Contemporary
Prints from China.”
