DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire will hold a public
forum Thursday, Oct. 16, from 12:30 to 2 p.m., in the Memorial Union
Building Theatre II, to discuss with the university and Durham communities
the progress of updating the Campus Master Plan.
Consultants Ayers/Saint/Gross and campus planning staff will present
the draft Campus Master Plan. Members of the UNH and Durham communities
are encouraged to attend.
The current Campus Master Plan was approved by the USNH Board of
Trustees in spring 1994. The updated plan is intended to reflect
the recent adoption of the new Academic Plan and the growth of the
university over the past decade.
It will provide the university with a blueprint for growth over
the next 20 years, and set a comprehensive development strategy
that will establish goals and objectives, and incorporate specific
building space needs, transportation improvements, land use requirements
and a landscape master plan. The effort will look not only at the
core campus, but outlying university properties in Durham, Lee and
Madbury.
The update process has had extensive public participation and constituent
input, and is expected to be completed this winter. The final plan
must be approved by the USNH Board of Trustees. For more information
