John Stabile is the Keynote
Speaker at UNH Center for Family Business Meeting

DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire Center for Family
Business Nov. 5 program will feature John Stabile, chairman of Stabile
Companies of Merrimack, N.H., as the keynote speaker. This meeting
marks the 10th anniversary of the UNH Center for Family Business
and will be held at the Bedford Village Inn, Bedford, N.H. The day
begins with a continental breakfast at 8 a.m., followed by the program
at 8:30 a.m., a preluncheon reception at 11:30 a.m., and the luncheon
at 12:15 p.m.
Stabile founded his family-owned business in 1973 and named it
H.J. Stabile & Son, Inc. after his father, Harry J. Stabile.
His talk will focus on the importance of family-owned businesses
in New Hampshire and how family businesses impact the state's economy.
The Center for Family Business is sponsored by Pierce Atwood, Genus
Resources, Baker Newman & Noyes, and MassMutual Financial Group,
and co-sponsored by the Whittemore School of Business and the Division
of Continuing Education. The center helps families successfully
transfer leadership and ownership, resolve conflict and improve
communication, achieve and sustain profitability, run successful
family meetings, bring family members into the business, learn effective
family communication skills, and enjoy working together.
