Fine Arts and Crafts for Sale at Art-Appeal EventProceeds benefit the University of New Hampshire Art Gallery By Lori Gula May 20, 2003 DURHAM, N.H. -- Works by some of the region's finest visual artists will be offered to the public for sale as part of a benefit for the University of New Hampshire Art Gallery. The Art-Appeal exhibition and art sale will be held Friday, June 13, to Sunday, June 15, 2003. Ceramics, paintings, prints, drawings, furniture, sculpture, jewelry and photographs will be among the many pieces offered at the sale. A list of all participating artists is attached. The sale, organized by members of The Art Gallery's Board of Advisors, is one of the many events offered throughout the university's Alumni Reunion Weekend. Purchases will support both the production and presentation of the visual arts in the region, with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for exhibitions and programs presented by The Art Gallery. Works can be purchased Friday, June 13, but may not be removed until Saturday. The exhibition and sale opens at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, with a public reception in honor of the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. The sale will continue throughout the weekend: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m. Sales will be by cash or check only; credit cards will not be accepted. A door prize will be awarded Friday during the reception. The prize will be a fine piece of jewelry created and donated by Durham artist Donna Heald. Parking for The Art Gallery Friday, June 13: Metered parking is available on College Road, in front of the Paul Creative Arts Center. It is also available at the Visitor's Center off Main Street. If a car is parked at the Visitor's Center, it must be registered with the Visitor's Center. A free shuttle bus leaves the center every 10 minutes. Saturday and Sunday, June 14 and 15: Metered parking is available on College Road, and parking is available in any lot designated for faculty, staff, or commuter students. B-Lot, a large parking area between College Road and McDaniel Drive, is one block from the Paul Creative Arts Center. The Visitor's Center shuttle is not active on weekends. The UNH Art Gallery is at the Paul Creative Arts Center, 30 College Road, Durham. Admission is free. Call 862-3712 for further information.
