DURHAM, N.H. -- Works by some of the region's finest visual artists will be offered to the public for sale as part of a benefit for the University of New Hampshire Art Gallery.

The Art-Appeal exhibition and art sale will be held Friday, June 13, to Sunday, June 15, 2003. Ceramics, paintings, prints, drawings, furniture, sculpture, jewelry and photographs will be among the many pieces offered at the sale. A list of all participating artists is attached.

The sale, organized by members of The Art Gallery's Board of Advisors, is one of the many events offered throughout the university's Alumni Reunion Weekend. Purchases will support both the production and presentation of the visual arts in the region, with a portion of the proceeds earmarked for exhibitions and programs presented by The Art Gallery.

Works can be purchased Friday, June 13, but may not be removed until Saturday. The exhibition and sale opens at 10 a.m. Friday, June 13, with a public reception in honor of the artists from 5 to 7 p.m. The sale will continue throughout the weekend: Saturday, 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and Sunday, noon to 4 p.m.

Sales will be by cash or check only; credit cards will not be accepted. A door prize will be awarded Friday during the reception. The prize will be a fine piece of jewelry created and donated by Durham artist Donna Heald.
