UNH to Hold Community Gathering of Remembrance and Hope Today in Johnson TheaterBy Erika Mantz UNH News Bureau 603-862-1567 September 18, 2001
The University of New Hampshire will host a Community Gathering of Remembrance and Hope today, Thursday, Sept. 20, from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Due to weather conditions, the gathering will be held in the Johnson Theater, not on the Thompson Hall lawn. Faculty, staff, students and the public are invited to gather together to reflect on the tragic events of Sept. 11. The gathering will begin with music by the UNH Faculty Woodwind Quintet, followed by comments from UNH President Joan Leitzel, the Rev. Mary Westfall and Rabbi Lev Baíesh. Paul Brockelman, professor emeritus of philosophy at the university, and the Rev. Larry Brickner-Wood will also speak. Readings will be done by representatives of the UNH Chaplains Association, and the UNH Music Department will provide instrumental interludes throughout. |
