Young Girls Reach for the Stars at UNH

Residential Science Camp for Girls Ages 10-12 held July 22-27

DURHAM, N.H. -- Reach for the Stars, a week-long residential camp for girls ages 10-12 designed to mentor, motivate and encourage interest in science and mathematics, will be held at the University of New Hampshire July 22-27. The camp is sponsored by the Department of Education's Adult and Occupational Education Program.

Girls will be mentored by women in medicine, forestry, engineering, astronomy and sustainable agriculture as they participate in scientific research, field studies and cooperative play. Participants will also build an individual portfolio through journal writing and craft a quilt piece to tell a story.
