N.H. Governor Shaheen Proclaims July 12
Team Nutrition Day

DURHAM, N.H. -- To coincide with the University of New Hampshire's Team Nutrition Summer Institute, N.H. Governor Jeanne Shaheen proclaimed Wednesday, July 12, "New Hampshire Celebrates Team Nutrition Day."

The special event, held during UNH's two-week institute for school professionals, recognizes the efforts of administrators and teachers who develop programs that provide nutritional instruction for the youth of the state. The institute, now in its fourth year, is the only one of its kind in the United States. It is funded by the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Food Stamp Program.

The celebration takes place at the Memorial Union Building from 9:30 a.m. through 4:30 p.m. and includes 250 invited guests. Featured presenters include Vickie James from Cooking Light Magazine, who will speak on "The Healthy Kids Challenge" in Theater II at 10 a.m. and Executive Chef Steve Learned from the Balsams Grand Resort, who will give a cooking demonstration at 1:15 p.m. in the Granite State Room.
