UNH Scholarships Awarded for Study Abroad

DURHAM, N.H. -- The University of New Hampshire's Center for International Education (CIE) recently awarded scholarships to five outstanding students for spring study abroad.
Two recipients will attend UNH's program in London: Lela Ames, an English major from Chesterfield, and Janice Ryan, an English teaching major from Cranston, R.I.
Eryn Breig, a biology major from Berwick, Me., will study in Costa Rica through the University of Kansas program; Felipe Alves, a business administration/international affairs dual major and resident of Easton, Conn., will attend the College Consortium for International Studies (CCIS) program in Portugal; and English major Amelia Lanza, from Sheldon, Vt., will study through the CCIS program in Florence, Italy.
Scholarship funds are provided by the UNH Classes of '47 and '57, CIE study abroad alumni, the American Institute for Foreign Study, and the Gerald M. ('49) and Jane Campbell ('50) Ellsworth Endowed Fund for International Study.
The next scholarship deadline for students planning study abroad in summer and fall 2001 is March 30.
