DURHAM, N.H. - The University of New Hampshire department of art and art history and the Office of Professional Development & Training will offer a new, three-day summer art institute, "Drawing, Painting, and Sculpting the Human Figure," Tuesday through Thursday, July 7-9, 2009, from 9 a.m. - 4 p.m., in the Paul Creative Arts Center on the Durham campus. Cost of the institute is $279, including lunch.
Using a live model, the institute is designed for new or experienced artists interested in enhancing their art skills. Each day will be dedicated to approaching figurative art from a different medium: drawing, painting, and sculpting.
Assistant professor Benjamin Cariens will teach the unit on sculpting while instructors Suzanne Schireson and Shiao-Ping Wang will teach drawing and painting, respectively.
