DURHAM, N.H. –The UNH Marine Docents will hold a marine education opportunity
fair at the Newington Town Hall Thursday, March 6, from 3:30 – 6:30 p.m.
The fair will provide a chance for teachers, school administrators and others
to talk to Marine Docents and find out what programs they have to offer for
students and educators.
The Marine Docents lead various boat-based educational programs, such as the
Coastal Floating Lab and Discovery Cruises, where students can learn about
their outdoor environment through hands-on teaching. Docents also help teach
school-based SeaTrek presentations on topics ranging from plate tectonics and
salt marshes to lobsters and seaweed. Representatives of other marine education
organizations will be available to answer questions. Refreshments and door
prizes will be handed out and the Docents will also hold a raffle.
The Newington Town Hall is located at 205 Nimble Hill Road, Newington. For
