Larry Mayer - UNH

Larry Mayer, director of UNH’s Center for Coastal and Ocean Mapping and Joint Hydrographic Center, has been elected to the National Academy of Engineering, one of the highest professional distinctions accorded to an engineer. Academy membership honors those who have made outstanding contributions to “engineering research, practice, or education” and to “the pioneering of new and developing fields of technology, making major advancements in traditional fields of engineering, or developing/implementing innovative approaches to engineering education.” One of the world’s experts in seafloor mapping, Mayer was recognized for his work in creating advanced techniques and technologies  for coastal, Arctic and ocean-floor mapping.
