For the first time in 13 years, the cost of parking permits is going up on the Durham and Manchester campuses. Beginning this summer, the annual permit cost will increase from $50 to $75. Faculty union members and the university's Transportation Policy Committee, which includes PAT and OS councilors, faculty and students, approved the measure.

Three consecutive payments ($25) will be taken from the paychecks of faculty/staff who buy or renew their permits via pre-tax payroll deductions. Commuting faculty/staff and students can still obtain one motorcycle permit at no charge with the purchase of a full-priced car permit.
