This week at the bi-annual Feminisms & Rhetorics Conference (sponsored by the Coalition of Feminist Scholars in the History of Rhetoric and Composition and hosted by the University of New Hampshire's English Department and Writing Programs), you'll find two events specifically engaging with the NACR:
- The UNH Dimond Library will be the location of our Special Collections Open House. UNH houses the National Archives of Composition and Rhetoric (NACR). The Open House will feature selections from NACR as well as selections from the Amy Cheney Beach Papers. The Open House will be Thursday July 17 from 1:00-3:00pm on the first floor of Dimond Library in the Special Collections Reading Room and the Archives Classroom (room 101).
- Members of the NACR will also be hosting a workshop at FemRhets on Saturday, July 19 at 12:45pm in HamiltonSmith Hall room 201 (95 Main St., Durham NH 03824). The workshop, titled “Sharing the Intellectual Work of Archival Creation and Disciplinary Storytelling through the National Archives of Composition and Rhetoric,” which highlights the NACR and local history. This workshop will first offer participants the opportunity to learn about the National Archive of Composition and Rhetoric’s (NACR) history and current work, including its revised mission to collaborate with emergent and existing archives related to the field and to support scholars and students interested in archival creation.
