Boys working in KEEPERS camp to build a strong sugar cube arch

Given the unpredictable nature of the COVID-19 pandemic and current health guidelines, UNH has cancelled its summer on-campus youth programs for 2020.

The health and safety of our participants and staff are always, but especially now, a priority. We are disappointed that we cannot provide our usual in-person interactions with youth. We look forward to a healthier 2021.

Kids Eager for Engineering Program with Elementary Research-based Science

KEEPERS for KidsSM provides a one week, half-day camp experience involving hands-on, minds-on challenges. The activities encourage inquiry and design skills through engineering challenges developed by experienced KEEPERS teachers and UNH faculty. The campers work in small groups to collaborate with others in solving challenges. Campers are divided into two groups for age-appropriate activities.

For students entering Grades 4-5, challenges are tied into the disciplines of: Chemical, Environmental, Civil, Mechanical, and Electrical Engineering.

The goal of KEEPERS is to provide activities that will:

a. Engage students in collaborative, problem-based learning activities that integrate math, science, technology, and engineering

b. Introduce students to UNH Engineers and hear about how they use the Engineering Design Process to solve real-world problems

Ultimately, we accomplish this with well-designed challenges, lots of enthusiasm and by having FUN!
