Holly R. Cashman

Associate Professor

Holly R. Cashman joined UNH as an associate professor of Spanish in the Department of Languages, Literatures & Cultures in 2008, and a core faculty member in the Women's Studies program. Her research focuses on Spanish in the U.S., bilingual conversation, queer linguistics, and impoliteness.

She is currently working on a book titled Queer Latina/o & Bilingual: a critical sociolinguistic ethnography, based on her research in Phoenix, Arizona, funded by a grant from the National Science Foundation.

Cashman has taught courses on a variety of topics from Spanish in the U.S./Bilingualism and Spanish Pragmatics & Politeness, to History of Spanish and (De)constructing Sexist, Racist & Homophobic Discourse in Spanish, as well as courses on Advanced Composition and Conversation, Spanish Phonetics and Introduction to Spanish Linguistics.
