What did you study at UNH?
Business Administration with a focus on Information Systems, Business Analytics, and Finance.
What are you doing now?
I am currently 3 months out of graduating with my bachelor’s degree and was hired by Liberty Mutual Insurance as an IT Analyst. It has been a very rewarding, and career-building experience so far. It’s nice to not only have this opportunity to gain valuable work experience, but it feels great to have some financial stability coming out of college.
Within Liberty Mutual, I am working with IT Hosting Services, but more specifically Midrange Services. We have a heavy focus on infrastructure. My manager is the man, and our team chemistry is second to none. I feel very lucky to have been placed in the team that I am in. Everyone has made my transition from college to the real world easier than I expected. I call it a “quarter life crisis,” because the depression of leaving college is real. It’s now hitting me again, as students move back into Durham.
How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?
I had great professors within my major that worked hard to help me succeed in class, as well as in my career. To top that off, Career Services made things simpler for me, in terms of applying for jobs, building resumes, and improving my interviewing techniques. But honestly, the biggest impact for me was not just the education, but the connections I created as a student at UNH. The people I met at UNH will be my friends forever and I wouldn’t want it any other way.
Why do you believe in UNH?
I believe in UNH because I am Wildcat. I bleed that blue and white, and I will be attending UNH events until I am covered in wrinkles.
