Alumni Tale: Kevin Cormier ’96

What did you study at UNH?

What were you doing one year out of college?

I was working at Newbury Comics in Nashua, N.H., beginning the road to management.

What were you doing five years out of college?

I was the store manager for Newbury Comics in Peabody, Mass.

What were you doing 10 years out of college?

I was preparing to begin my first year of teaching — seventh grade math.

What are you doing now?

I am still teaching middle school math, for seventh and eighth grade.  I have completed my master’s program, and am currently pursuing a doctorate, with a goal of returning to UNH as a professor.

How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?

The degree was secondary, and the environment that nurtured independent thought and opened my mind to new perspectives was the real benefit of my time there.
