What did you study at UNH?

Occupational Therapy

Did you have an international experience (study, research, internship or volunteer abroad) while at UNH?

Yes, I studied abroad in the Gold Coast of Australia (Bond University) and it was the best four months of my life.

What were you doing 1 year out of college?

I was still pursuing my master’s degree in occupational therapy. That entailed two “fieldworks,” one of which was in Denver! I lived here with family for 3 months and decided that the moment I graduated, I was moving back!

What were you doing 5 years out of college?

I was working at Life Care Center of Aurora as an Assistant Director of Rehab, managing 50 physical therapists, occupational therapists, and speech language pathologists. I gained valuable experience as a leader and manager of a fast paced inpatient rehab setting.

What are you doing now?

One year ago I quit my full time job to pursue being an entrepreneur in the startup tech world. I work as the co-founder, community manager, and marketing director (among other roles). My company is called Myhub and it allows users to plan group activities and collect cash from friends. My boyfriend and I started it together because we were always planning Red Rocks trips and group ski condo rentals and were frustrated by coordinating the experience over multiple platforms. We are both still working on it full time at Galvanize (community tech workspace). I also still work as an occupational therapist one day per week!

How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?

My time at UNH has lead me to be a hard worker,  an independent thinker, and a leader. I will carry the skills I learned in OT school with me the rest of my life. However, other skills that I learned along the way allowed me to easily pick up a role in a completely different field.

Why do you believe in UNH?

I believe in UNH because it offers students an invaluable experience to learn and grow. I believe that the OT program is the best in the country because it offers a combined undergrad and graduate experience.  I believe in the Greek system because it promoted helping others and lifelong friendships. I believe and I need to come back for a visit! 🙂
