Alumni Tale: Greg Tassinari ’11

What did you study at UNH?

Business Administration, with a Finance concentration and a minor in Hospitality Management

Are you a member of a UNH Alumni Network? If so, which one?

I am currently the president of the New York City Alumni Network.

What were you doing 1 year out of college?

My first year after graduating, I was working as Sales Manager for Marriott International in a regional office. I was responsible for selling the New England market and transitioned to selling the New York market.

What were you doing 5 years out of college?

Five years after college, I was working in NYC for Marriott International. I had worked a few years in the Boston area and then was sought out to work for the NYC Midtown Manhattan Sales Team. In the mix of the move, I was engaged to my lovely, now-wife Marybeth, who I had met at UNH my freshman year when applying to be a Tour Guide.

What are you doing now?

Now, can you guess? I am still with Marriott International working in NYC. I was recently working as a Revenue Manager to gain broader experience, but have now returned to sales as a Senior Sales Executive handling convention sales.

Did you have an international experience (study, research, internship or volunteer abroad) while at UNH?

I had the pleasure of studying abroad during my junior spring semester at UNH in Rome, Italy, through a program called API. I loved every moment of my experience and got to travel a lot throughout Europe. I wish I had done a full year, as I enjoyed getting to learn so much about different cultures.

How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?

My time at UNH was a great foundation for me today. Not only did I learn a lot in classes, but my involvement made the biggest impact in developing my leadership skills. I was involved in SCOPE, Sailing, and was also a Tour Guide. While I was in SCOPE, I became the Business manager and was part of the Student Activity Fee Committee (SAFC).
