What did you study at UNH?
What were you doing 1 year out of college?
I was teaching AP Literature at Portsmouth High School.
What were you doing 5 years out of college?
I moved to New York with my husband and began teaching middle school and teaching college classes. I began (and achieved) my National Board Certification.
What were you doing 10 years out of college?
I had just had my daughter Zoey. By this point I was doing a little writing, and blogging was just becoming “a thing.” I continued to teach middle school, and I started working on test development with New York State.
What are you doing now?
I now have a 7 year old son Oliver, in addition to my 10 year old daughter Zoey. My husband and I are moving in on 20 years together. I still teach middle school, and I blog regularly. My writing is all archived on my website, AmberRainChandler.com. I’ve recently served as a review panelist for Fordham’s Assessment Alignment Project.
How do you feel your time at UNH has had an impact on where you are today?
I loved studying literature, and I was first seriously encouraged to write at UNH.
Why do you believe in UNH?
UNH is a great place to figure out who you are, along with lots of other people open to new ideas and experiences.
