Sustainability Advocates Intern

Alexis is an Environmental Engineering and Sustainability dual major. She was a member of the UNH Honors Program and was the Public Relations Chair for UNH’s Chapter of the Society of Women Engineers. Beyond these roles, she also served on the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences Advisory Board. During Alexis’s first year, she constructed a water quality sensor for a citizen science project through the Innovation Scholars Program. Throughout the following summer, she built upon this work by conducting research as part of a Research Experience and Apprenticeship Program Fellowship.

She previously served as one of Handler Hall’s Sustainability Advocates. Within this role, she planned a reusable utensil sale to fund the “adoption” of a wild animal through the World Wildlife Fund which now serves as the residence hall’s mascot. Alexis joined the Sustainability Institute’s team as an intern, managing and strengthening the university’s “Sustainability Advocates” program – a residence hall-based peer-to-peer education and engagement program. In her free time, she enjoys playing soccer, painting, running, hiking, and playing with her baby sister. Alexis has made it her goal to visit all 63 National Parks in the United States.
