Big Brothers Big Sisters

UNH students have the opportunity to serve as youth mentors by applying to be Bigs through Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire. Since 1966, Big Brothers Big Sisters of New Hampshire has been changing lives - one friendship at a time. Mentoring gives youth the inspiration and confidence needed to achieve their dreams, provides parents with a network of support, and offers volunteers the opportunity to make a big difference in someone else's life, just by having fun! UNH volunteers will meet with their Littles at their school during lunch, recess, or after-school activities.

You will need access to transportation in order to serve as a Big. If you have a driver's license and are able to visit your Little at least twice a month, you can apply for free Zipcar access through our office. Click here to access the ZipCar application.

All Bigs are recommended to go through College Positive Volunteers training. This training is required for students using the free Zipcar service. The next CPV training will be Tuesday, October 2, 12:00-1:00, with lunch provided. College Positive Volunteerism seeks to increase college enrollment and success for all students, and especially underrepresented students, by providing them with support and information about college preparation.
