The Franchise Model: How to Accelerate Circular Economy Implementation in the Recycling Sector
A circular economy (CE) utilizes goods at the end of their typical life cycle to repeatedly create or re-create products, infinitely. Emerging economic models such as CE disrupt the patterns of organization of value chains, and create new business opportunities for collecting and recycling businesses, the development of second life products markets, and the creation of independent structures that outsource and optimize the physical flow management. CE initiatives may come from NGOs or social entrepreneurs worldwide. In their exploratory research The Franchise Model: How to Accelerate Circular Economy Implementation in the Recycling Sector, Dr. Aliouche and fellow researcher, Dominique Bonet Fernandez from IPAG-Business School in Aix-Marseille Université in Paris, France, demonstrate how the franchise model may be an effective accelerator of change to help to quickly and efficiently implement sustainable CE initiatives.
