Graduate Students - Education & Training

These  programs are designed to help graduate students enhance their skills for seeking and securing funding for their research and scholarly activities.

Check the Research Office Workshop/Seminar Calendar regularly to find details and registration information for the programs offered each month.




The UNH Research Office partners with the Graduate School and National Fellowships Office to deliver workshops and one-on-one support to eligible undergraduate and graduate students applying to the National Science Foundation Graduate Research Fellowships Program (NSF GRFP) late October application deadline.  Undergraduate workshops begin in the spring.  The UNH program intensifies in the fall.

GRAD 935: Intensive Grant Writing Seminar and Graduate Writing Academy

GRAD 935 is offered in Summer Session and J-term. The two-week grant writing seminar meets every weekday for 3 hours. This class provides the expertise necessary to identify appropriate funding opportunities and write effective grant proposals. Guest speakers include successful grant writers from across campus, including faculty members and staff from Advancement and the Research Office.

A Graduate Writing Academy focusing on science communication also is being piloted in Fall 2017 by the Graduate School in partnership with UNH faculty and the Research Office. Three full day sessions are planned.
