The University of New Hampshire participates in the New England Board of Higher Education's New England Regional Student Program (NERSP) where New England public universities and colleges offer a number of undergraduate programs with reduced tuition to students from other New England states.
NERSP allows students from New England states, who are enrolled in participating programs to pay the UNH in-state tuition plus seventy-five percent. If a student changes his or her major to a non-participating major prior to receiving a degree, the student will be required to pay the regular out-of-state tuition for the remainder of their time at UNH. The NERSP tuition rate is subject to change at any time, as is the list of approved UNH programs.
The NERSP rate is not always beneficial to a student’s financial aid package. The University will evaluate an NERSP eligible student’s financial aid package upon admission to a qualified major. If a student’s financial aid package changes after the initial evaluation, it is the student’s responsibility to contact Financial Aid to discuss whether or not the reduced rate is beneficial for subsequent academic years.
