Dr. PT (Vasu) Vasudevan is Interim Provost and Vice President for Academic Affairs, and Professor of Chemical Engineering at the University of New Hampshire. Prior to this, he served as Senior Vice Provost for Academic Affairs, Associate Dean in the College of Engineering and Physical Sciences, and Department Chair of Chemical Engineering. Dr. Vasudevan received his B.S. in Chemical Engineering from Madras, India, his M.S. in Chemical Engineering from SUNY, Buffalo and his Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from Clarkson University.
During his tenure at UNH, Dr. Vasudevan has won a number of awards including the Tau Beta Pi outstanding teacher award, the CEPS teaching excellence award, the Jean Brierley teaching excellence award, the Excellence in International Engagement award, the Graduate Mentor award and the American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) New England Section outstanding teaching award.
Dr. Vasudevan’s expertise is in the area of biocatalysis and hydrodesulfurization catalysts. His current research is on biofuels. He is a joint author of a popular text on Process Design and Economics with Professor Gael Ulrich, and has published over 50 peer reviewed research articles.
