Consider joining us for our second annual CEITL Summer Pedagogy-Focused Workshops. In this workshop series, CEITL staff will present evidence-based teaching strategies that you can incorporate into your fall 2022 courses to promote student learning.

 

Arrive with a course and/or a teaching challenge in mind. After brief presentations of evidence-based pedagogical strategies on each of the two workshop days, CEITL staff will be available to work with you individually, from start to finish, to incorporate interventions designed to meet your teaching and learning goals. Part I: Taking the pulse of your classroom

The MAP:

The Mid-Course Assessment Process (MAP) is a means to gather student feedback mid-way through the semester through a Qualtrics-based online form. This is a great way to hear from your students about their learning experiences and perceptions of the course so far and to make adjustments, if indicated, before the end of the semester. Students’ responses are completely anonymous, and Instructors receive a confidential report 24-48 hours after the MAP has closed. Learn how you can collaborate with CEITL staff to promote student response rates in an effort to gather useful formative information as you work to refine your course.

Part II: Course research projects to promote student learning

Discover how you can work with CEITL staff to promote and assess student learning in courses you teach. Arrive with a teaching and learning research question and/or course issue you would like addressed. During this session, we will present on the following:

  • Working with CEITL on a course project to promote learning
  • Case studies: Two examples of semester-long projects
  • Explore examples of possible research topics:
