6a. Theft - Class A

Taking or possessing property or currency (cash or digital) of another, with reasonably estimated value of $200, with the purpose to permanently deprive.

First Offense:

  • 6 months Disciplinary Probation
  • Educational Sanction(s)
  • Restitution                                
  • Prohibition Against Personal Contact

6b. Theft - Class B

Taking or possessing property or currency (cash or digital), reasonably estimated to be value between $200.01 and $999.99; of another with the purpose to permanently deprive.

Aggravating Factors Include:

  • Impact on the individual/community
  • Mechanisms of the theft

First Offense:

  • 1 year Disciplinary Probation
  • Educational Sanction(s)
  • Restitution
  • Residence Hall Eviction – Eligible for Alternative Sanctions Program
  • Prohibition Against Personal Contact

Second Offense:

  • 18 months Disciplinary Probation
  • Educational Sanction(s)
  • Restitution
  • Residence Hall Expulsion

6c. Theft - Class C

Taking or possessing property or currency (cash or digital) of another, reasonably estimated to be value over $1000, with the purpose to permanently deprive.

Aggravating Factors Include:

  • Impact on the individual/community
  • Mechanisms of the theft

First Offense:

  • 2 years Disciplinary Probation - University Dismissal
  • Educational Sanction(s)
  • Restitution
  • Residence Hall Eviction if appropriate
  • Banned from Entry if appropriate  Prohibition Against Personal Contact

If Suspension upon return:

  • Educational Sanction(s)
  • Required Interview
  • Disciplinary Probation until graduation
  • Additional Follow Up Meetings with OCS Administration
  • Restitution
  • Residence Hall Eviction if appropriate
  • Prohibition Against Personal Contact
  • Banned from Entry if appropriate
