PrOVES Program Details

"I loved [PrOVES]! It allowed me, as an introvert, to gain a foothold on how life was going to be and begin forming a new support system before the year started."  —2018 PrOVES participant

Who is this for?

Incoming First-Year students who are interested in moving in early, connecting with their peers and upperclassmen, exploring the NH Seacoast, and giving back to the community!

How many people are accepted?

Admissions are rolling on a first-come, first-served basis. We can accept approximately 70 students.

What is this program?

A full-time, 5-day early move-in program to help students adjust to UNH in a smaller group setting while making connections with peers, upperclass students, and local nonprofits through community service.

What will I be doing?

Click above to download a sample PrOVES schedule. The 2022 schedule may differ from this, but it will give you a sense of the week.

When is it?

PrOVES participants will move into their residence halls on Sunday, August 21, 2022. The program will begin that afternoon and will be full-time through Friday, August 26, when Wildat Days begins.

What does it cost?

The registration fee of $325 covers the cost of housing, meals, transportation to service sites, supplies, and 2 PrOVES t-shirts. This fee is waived for students with demonstrated financial need. If cost is a concern, contact the program coordinator at megan.brabec@unh.edu. Payment will not be collected until all program decisions are made and are not due at the time of application.

How do I sign up?

Applications are now open for PrOVES 2022. Incoming students can apply to the UNH PrOVES program by clicking here.
