UNH Unity Week

May 4-8, 2021

Unity Week is a time for the UNH community to come together to celebrate building a healthy, inclusive community. Due to Yellow Mode, we cannot gather together in person. However there are many opportunities to participate in Unity Week activities.

UNH Vigil for lives lost to police violence. May 4th, 7:30pm

Door Decorating Contest Decorate your room or office door to express gratitude and celebration for your community, your office, and/or the UNH campus for coming together during a challenging year. Unity Week Scavenger Hunt

Take a photo that captures you doing each of the following items. Be sure to get permission when taking photos of others. Please practice COVID safety measures during the scavenger hunt. Three players who complete the hunt in its entirety will be chosen at random for prizes! 

1. Go to @thebeaureguardcenter on Instagram or Facebook for scavenger hunt task list or look below.

2. Complete the hunt!

3. Email your photos of each task (10 total) to Caché Owens-Velásquez at cache.owens-velasquez@unh.edu by May 8th @ 11:59

4. Winners will be randomly chosen and notified on May 10th

Tasks:

1. Thank a facilities staff member (housekeeping, groundkeeping, janitorial, etc.)

2. Thank a dining staff member

3. Find a faculty member who has been kind and/or helpful to you this semester

4. Find an RA or hall director who has been a great resource for you this semester

5. Find a member of student government and thank them for their work

6. Find a staff member from any office/center on campus and thank them for their work

7. Attend or help promote a program or event on campus

8. Choose a fellow student who you learned from this semester and thank them

9. Choose a student leader of your choice and thank them for their work

10. Find your favorite spot on campus and take a moment to celebrate yourself

Memorial for Victims of Police Violence

This is an interactive memorial table for victims of police violence set up in The Beauregard Center for people to leave flowers, notes, poems, etc. This interactive space will also be set up on T-hall lawn during the day on Tuesday 5/4 for passerby to engage in:

  • There will be memorial jars where attendees can write notes, prayers, or messages to the victims of violence who are no longer with us 
  • Attendees can leave offerings, flowers, gifts, or other small items for the physical memorial/altar space 
  • Photographs, art, quotes, and words (relevant to the lives lost) will be displayed across this altar space
