William Harvey retired from the US Army as a Sergeant First Class after more than 20 years of service and five combat deployments. Mr. Harvey chose to pursue the full-time MBA program at the UNH Paul College of Business for many reasons; from the ability to complete your degree in 10 months to having the most beautiful campus in all of New England. Above all of those reasons, William’s final decision was made once he spoke to a few of the Paul College professors. Their passion and motivation shone through. William’s advice for future veteran students is to shed any preconceived notions of university life and to enter this opportunity with an open mind. Time management skills and the aggressive work ethic that you developed in the military will separate you from your peers. Share these skills and knowledge with your peers, but be open to what your non-military affiliated peers will teach you. Lastly, get to know those who work in the Veteran Services Office and other Veterans who attend UNH—there are far more than you think.
