What is the cost to participate in Family Weekend?
Family Weekend includes programming and demonstrations can all be attended for FREE! If you would like to attend the BBQ and football game in Wildcat Stadium on Saturday, tickets must be purchased in advance.
Do I need tickets for any other Family Weekend events beyond the Football Game/Tailgating/BBQ?
Tickets are required for the Women’s Hockey game on Friday afternoon (2PM) and the Men’s Hockey game on Friday evening (7PM). No other Family Weekend programming requires tickets at this time.
Is Family Weekend only for the parents and families of new students?
We look forward to hosting the parents and families of ALL returning students, not just the freshman class.
Where can I park?
Visitors on Saturday and Sunday are encouraged to park in the lots highlighted in orange or yellow in our Family Weekend Parking Map. All locations indicated above are free and do not require passes. Those tailgating Saturday’s game should refer to the 2022 Football Tailgating Policies for information on parking.
If you are arriving on campus before 6 p.m. on Friday, you should refer to the Visitor parking information page.
Are there shuttles to get around campus?
The Weekend Connector Shuttle runs every 25-30 minutes from 10 a.m.–12 p.m. on Saturday and Sunday. Click here for links to the the schedule and map.
Where do I check in for Family Weekend?
While there is no formal check-in for Family weekend, visitors are encouraged to stop by our tent on the Great Lawn to pick-up their schedule for the weekend, a couple of small gift items, and enter to win some UNH prizes!
How do I get Football Tickets?
See the main Family Weekend website for step-by-step directions on purchasing UNH Football Game tickets, as well as tickets for the Family Weekend BBQ and tailgating. Directions include the discount code for the buffet.
Will there be a cutoff date for buying tickets, or can I purchase tickets right up to October 22?
The cutoff date to purchase tickets for the BBQ in the Touchdown Tent is Monday, Oct. 17 at 9 a.m. Tickets for the game can still be purchased online in advance to avoid lines, or on the day of the event at the Ticket Office at Gate A of Wildcat Stadium.
Does my Football Ticket include tailgating?
No, tailgating for UNH Football games is a separate add-on in the ticketing website. Attendees not planning to tailgate should refer to the “Where do I park” question above for more information on parking.
Have tailgating policies changed?
UNH released new Parking & Tailgating policies for the 2022 season. We recommend you review them before arriving for the weekend.
Where do I pick up my Family Weekend BBQ Buffet in the Touchdown Tent tickets?
BBQ Buffet wristbands will be picked up at the entrance to the touchdown Tent prior to entering.
Will there be alcohol available at the BBQ Buffet?
There will be a cash bar at the Touchdown Tent for 21+ attendees.
Can I attend the BBQ if I don’t buy a game ticket?
Unfortunately access to the Touchdown Tent is only available if you also purchase a game ticket. Not planning on attending the football game? Grab lunch in one of our dining halls instead. Stop by the Family Weekend Check-in on the Great Lawn and grab a meal pass that offers discounted lunch passes for each member of your family ($10.00 cost).
Can I eat in the dining hall with my student?
Yes, we offer pay-at-the-door pricing at all of our dining halls for each meal. Visit the dining website for more information regarding our dining options and pricing.
If I do not want to attend the football game, what else can I do with my student?
There will be a full list of activities happening around campus. Details will be updated on the Family Weekend web page, and a printed schedule will be available at the check-in tent. Additionally, the area surrounding Durham has plenty to offer, whether it’s exploring hiking trails, strolling around downtown Portsmouth, shopping at the outlets in nearby Kittery, Maine or taking in a show at the Portsmouth Music Hall. Can my student sit with me at the football game?
UNH undergraduate students are supplied with general admission football tickets as part of their activities fee. The Family Weekend package extends general admission access for families to sit with their students in any GA seating. Families hoping to purchase seating outside of General Admission will need to buy a separate ticket for their students if they would like to sit together.
If it is raining will Family Weekend activities be cancelled?
Family Weekend will take place rain or shine. Please keep an eye on the weather and plan accordingly. There are no refunds for Football or BBQ Buffet tickets.
My plans have changed and I will not be able to attend, can I get my money back?
Unfortunately, due to the amount of advance planning, we cannot issue any refunds.
