Major: PhD candidate in Physics
Home country: India
Research focus: Space physics
I’m getting hands-on experience in instrumentation, which is something I have not done before and wanted to gain experience in.
What attracted you to the UNH Space Science Center?
It is really vast — there are many different people working in very different fields — so I had options. I could go into magnetosphere or heliosphere; there are people working in galaxies or high-energy astrophysics. There were so many options, I thought this would be a really good place, and after coming here I could figure out what I really wanted to work in.
What is your faculty advisor like?
He is super nice, and he’s really supportive. I think I’ve gotten a really good PhD advisor, and that’s one of the most important things.
What’s something you really like about UNH?
UNH is situated in such an amazing location. We have the White Mountains. We are close to Maine. And then there’s also the beaches. It’s perfect.
