“Before I came here, I didn’t know how to make choices for myself. I just followed what other people were doing just to be a good student in other people’s eyes. But through my years here at UNH I learned to just be myself and do what I want to do. I learned to be the best version of myself.”
Why did you choose UNH?
I was looking at universities that have Navitas. UNH had a beautiful campus. This is a very quiet and peaceful town, which is very different from where I come from. I’m from Beijing; that’s a big city with tens of millions of people, so I wanted to experience something different.
What are your plans after graduation?
Going to law school at George Washington University on a partial scholarship.
Why Law School?
I’m really interested in the idea of law, that the law system here acts as a guide to tell people how to behave and act, and it’s constantly evolving. I feel like law is not just about what’s right and what’s wrong … it’s more about finding a balance between people and how they can live in harmony with each other under the system. I think that’s fascinating.
Do you have a memorable class or professor at UNH?
Michelle Michaud’s public speaking class was one of the best classes I’ve ever taken here. She was super in helping people gain public speaking skills, overcome shyness and be brave enough to stand in front of people and talk.
