Academic Software Applications

UNH IT Academic Technology along with various departments has purchased several software packages for use by the entire campus. These applications are being used by faculty and students to enhance existing courses through the use of computer technology.

Academic Web Application Hosting

UNH Academic Technology hosts web applications which aid in coursework and facilitate other academic persuits. This service is offered by UNH AT to the academic community.

Audiovisual Services

The UNH Audiovisual Services group manages over 180 technology enhanced teaching and learning spaces at UNH Durham. We provide equipment rental, system installation & repair, special events, and direct support services to faculty, staff, students, and patrons.

Computer Clusters

The UNH Student Computing Labs/Clusters provide Macintosh, Windows, and Linux computer systems free for use by all UNH faculty, staff, and students.

Computer Lab Management and Consulting

The Academic Computing Systems staff will provide consulting services on an hourly basis to install operating systems or software, configure equipment, or troubleshoot and repair software problems in computer labs.

Course Software Installation

Academic Technology staff install and maintain all of the software for the public Student Computing Clusters, Hands-on Classrooms, and SuperTEC classrooms as well as various department-owned labs that we manage. In addition to actually installing requested programs, we also will consult with faculty members trying to select the best software for use in their courses.

Exam Scanning

The Exam Scanning service includes new functionality and is be accomplished entirely in house; everything from the printing of materials to the actual scanning occurs at UNH. All results from the exams can be posted quickly and securely to both Blackboard and Canvas, and is accessible by faculty and teaching assistants with proper credentials. The new service provides faculty with secure, comprehensive, and easy to access statistical analysis. Output formats include PDF, digital copies of student response sheets, and an Excel file output.

Hands-On Classrooms

UNH Academic Technology Audiovisual Services Department maintains classroom-sized computer facilities in Hewitt Hall, Kingsbury Hall, and the Memorial Union Building for demonstrations or hands-on computer training for academic classes.

Instructional Design

The Instructional Design & Development (IDD) teamis committed to helping UNH faculty enhance the quality of their teaching and support the effective use of instructional technology in their courses.

Student Response System

Student Response Systems provide real-time polling capabilities in the classroom via dedicated "clicker" hardware, the use of mobile devices, or a web application.

Web Conferencing

Web conference tools allow faculty to connect online with their students using web-based tools and does not require anyone to be in a specific location to use.

Web Surveying

UNH has licensed the Qualtrics Survey Research Suite, a Web-based survey and data analysis service. This license provides the UNH community with a set of powerful online survey and research tools, and allows an unlimited number of surveys and survey responses annually. Our license also includes Offline Survey capabilities for use with tablet or smartphone devices. All UNH students, faculty, and staff are permitted to use the service for coursework, research, and all other University-related business.
