How new myCourses features benefits you.
myCourses by Canvas has updates each month and they are meant to improve functionality and benefit faculty and students. This month there are two new updates that I know you will find beneficial. One is how the Course menu link display the visible and hidden course menu links. The other update is in the gradebook and clarifies how the grade post policy displays the post status.

All UNH faculty have access to the myWildcat Success (mWS). You can login now using your standard UNH credentials. Once logged in you can find useful information regarding students enrolled in your courses. Faculty have the ability to view photos, basic contact information, and assigned academic, study abroad, and honors advisors for your students.

Kaltura discontinued the CaptureSpace application in June 2019, and UNH Academic Technology (AT) no longer supports its use. Faculty members who use CaptureSpace should switch to Kaltura Capture.

Course analytics in myCourses is being updated with new features and is being offered first as “Analytics Beta” that can be optionally enabled by faculty.
This new Analytics Beta tool will eventually replace Course Analytics that is currently found on your course home page. With the newest release of Canvas comes the highly requested feature of Dashboard Management. At log in, you will see your favorited courses on your dashboard. Previously, you were unable to organize these at will. To arrange your cards, simply drag and drop them in the order you wish to see them. This will make it easier to find your most favorited courses. Alternatively, you can also use the Move feature by clicking on the three dots in the upper right corner of the cards.

myCourses by Canvas operates on a three-week release cycle through which features are added or updated. Academic Technology Teaching and Learning Support blogs highlights from myCourses’ production release notes, a link to these notes, and other relevant content in the days surrounding a production release.

November 20th marked the inaugural Open Education Resources (OER) Ambassador reunion in which Ambassadors from across UNH gathered to discuss the current and potential future state of their OER projects and the future of Open Education. Provost Wayne Jones provided closing remarks in which he congratulated Ambassadors on their efforts and discussed broader efforts underway at UNH to improve student retention including a role that OER might play in the student experience.
