To better serve our customers, UNH IT is currently working with Connection, our current technology reseller, to navigate through the ongoing, worldwide shortage of Intel processors. Due to this shortage, we are experiencing a 30-day plus lead time on Lenovo notebooks and desktops that are not currently in stock (as indicated once logged into the Connection order page).

Please plan accordingly and place orders now for computers in stock and for stock that is currently impacted with the 30 day plus lead time.

We found two Lenovo models with AMD processors that are comparable standard model replacements. AMD processors are the equivalent to Intel, show some cost savings, and in some models, supersede the computer power of Intel. These are being tested now by Connection for compatibility with the UNH image. Computers equipped with AMD processors have delivery times of 15-20 days. Once successfully tested, we will work with Connection to get the AMD models listed in stock.

If you have plans to purchase in FY 20, please let us know at our Feedback Form. We can work with you and Connection to forecast the computer purchases and pre-order, arranging for the hardware to be in stock, and allowing for timely delivery when you are ready.
