Happening Now: Faculty/Staff Exchange Online Migration

February 1, 2019

by UNH IT Staff

Exchange Online provides faculty and staff with 100GB quota.

Since November 2018, UNH IT has been migrating all UNH faculty and staff email mailboxes to Exchange Online, an effort that will continue into fall semester until all 6500 faculty/staff mailboxes are moved.

The migration to Exchange Online will increase mailbox quotas to 100GB, and provides for easier collaboration between faculty, staff, and students, as everyone will be in the same email environment. In addition, this move saves the University money by reducing IT infrastructure complexity and footprint in the UNH Data Center.

Exchange Online is a reliable, secure, cloud-based email platform that leverages all the functionality of Outlook. It's also accessible from anywhere with an internet connection.

Prior to migration, you will be contacted by UNH IT with this message (posted on Information Security Services’ The Phish Bowl): https://www.unh.edu/it/news/2019/01/legitimate-email-subject1exchange-online-is-coming-to-you-eastern-standard-time

To maximize your experience and functionality, faculty and staff should upgrade to Office 365 ProPlus, which is available at no cost. For more information, including instructions on how to upgrade, go to: https://www.unh.edu/it/kb/article/office-365-available-to-unh-faculty-and-staff.html
