WebI Reporting Update Scheduled for November 17

November 8, 2018

by UNH IT Staff

The Enterprise Information Management (EIM) team will update the Web Intelligence (WebI) reporting application to a new version on Saturday, November 17, 2018.  This update will ensure compatibility with newer browsers, operating systems, and Java versions, and will maintain continued vendor support.

The update to the WebI application will have little impact on most report readers and developers. Perhaps the most significant change is the addition of Chrome as a supported browser.  Beginning November 18, 2018, customers can choose to run their reports using Internet Explorer, Firefox, or Chrome.

Report Creators will see many improvements to the HTML Design tool.  In the past, there were several functions that required switching to the Java Applet.  Those functions have now been moved into the HTML designer, making the Applet nearly obsolete.  Other new features include:

  • Value-based breaks and automatic subtotals,
  • Positioning a Grand Total block relative to a section,
  • Grouping Input Controls so that they filter out unnecessary values,
  • DateBetween() and TimeBetween() functions,
  • Persistent Settings in the Query panel,
  • Formatting multiple tables and charts at one time,
  • Descriptions on variables,
  • Hiding measures, and
  • Intra-report linking.

The EIM team will be conducting several demonstrations of the new features in November and December.  To sign up for a “New Webi Features for Report Creators” session, to read more about the update to WebI, or to watch tutorials about WebI, please visit the WebIntelligence web site at https://www.unh.edu/it/enterprise-information-management/webintelligence-reporting-upgrade.
