UNH IT is hosting the following events in October 2018. All are open to UNH students, staff, and faculty.

Wednesday, October 17
National Cyber Security Awareness Month: The Identity Threat Landscape and UNH's Response

Description: Mr. Connors, a member of the UNH IT Enterprise Collaboration and Messaging team, along with a senior architect from SecureAuth, will provide an overview of the identity threat landscape and the actions UNH is taking in response.

National Cyber Security Awareness Month: Research Opportunities in Cybersecurity

Description: Mr. Graf, a faculty member in CEPS, will discuss the impact on cybersecurity research caused by organizations embracing the Cloud, Internet of Things (IoT) devices, and machine learning (ML).  Industry and government are looking to understand and leverage the vast amounts of data that can be collected via these new technologies to provide new solutions.

Description: Five Ways You Help Keep the University Secure. This presentation will give an overview of 5 ways every member of the UNH community makes a difference when it comes to safeguarding information and information technology resources at the University. We will discuss protecting accounts, protecting devices, avoiding phishing, handling data, and information security incident identification and reporting. Attendees will have ample time to ask questions about information security best practices. Complimentary coffee and snacks will be served.

The theme for the Lean Summit is Times are Changing, with a focus on Lean as it pertains to transformation, innovation, measurement, and engagement.  This year’s Summit features 23 speakers, a panel discussion, hands-on breakout sessions, examples of Lean Process Improvements, and networking opportunities. The summit is designed for expert and novice alike and is intended for those seeking to learn more about continuous process improvement.

USNH employees and UNH students are welcome free-of-charge. The Summit is also open to the public at $195/person, but seating is limited. Snacks are provided, and lunch at Holloway Commons is available for $11 with pre-registration.

To register, go to https://www.unh.edu/lean/lean-summit and click Register (on the right), and follow the registration prompts. If you are a UNH or USNH employee, enter UNHguest in the promo code when you reach the payment screen. This will zero out the amount due. If you choose to eat lunch, $11 is due.
