Important Note Regarding Windows Instructor Computers

by UNH IT Staff

For instructors using technology-enhanced classrooms at UNH, the following information may apply.

As you may have noticed, the Windows Start Menu has changed slightly in Windows 10 from the previously installed version of Windows, Windows 7.

Please do not power off the computers at the end of your class. Signing out rather than powering off will allow for the easiest transition for the incoming instructor.

The steps for logging off your user account are as follows:

1. Open the start menu by clicking the Windows logo in the bottom left of your screen.

2. Locate your name at the top of the menu.

3. Left click on your name.

4. In the small pop-up menu, select Sign Out.

For instructors who arrive in a classroom to discover the computer has been powered off by the previous user, simply press the round Power button on the Dell computer mounted in the podium equipment rack. If the computer is already on but not displaying after you select PC as your source, press the spacebar as it is likely just asleep.

Please contact the AV Classroom Support Hotline if you require any assistance using the Audiovisual System in your classroom. Our number is 603-862-2467.
