Did you know you the myCourses SpeedGrader has a sort feature? Using the settings link, you can sort assignments by student name, date submitted, or submission status. Choosing submission status ensures that only assignments that need grading bubble up to the top, meaning you don’t need to wade through students who haven’t yet submitted anything for that assignment. (Especially useful in larger classes.)

If you use the SpeedGrader, you’ll definitely want to take advantage of this feature. So how do you find this hidden gem? Here’s how:

Navigate to the speedgrader and select Settings (top right)

To open the sorting options for the student list, select the drop-down menu and select the option you want to set.

Don’t forget to Save Settings!

Did you also know there are keyboard shortcuts for the SpeedGrader?

j : Next student

k : Previous student

c : Leave comment

g : Change grade

r : Use rubric

In case you forget these, pressing comma in SpeedGrader will show them.
